Twelve terms that come up again and again in this help and in the plugin – plus what your guests can do without an account and what the plugin deliberately doesn’t do.
Small glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Event | The bracket around everything, e.g. “Comic Con 2026”. An entry without a parent; it carries the hall plans and groups all exhibitors. |
| Exhibitor | A single entry within it: a company, an artist, a club. In the back end both are called “Exhibitor”. |
| Event field | The select field that assigns an exhibitor to its event. Without it, the exhibitor appears nowhere. |
| Type | The kind of exhibitor: dealer, artist, club, sponsor. Carries an accent color and a fallback logo. |
| Category | The range or topic: manga, fashion, food. Several per exhibitor are possible. |
| Product | What is offered at the booth: postcards, books, coffee. Feeds the optional product filter. |
| Location | Hall, room or outdoor area. The link between exhibitor and hall plan. |
| Booth ID | The booth number, e.g. A12. It connects the exhibitor with the area in the hall plan. |
| Hall plan | An SVG drawing of your hall in which every booth area is clickable. |
| Shortcode | A short snippet in square brackets that you insert into a page. It brings the directory or plan to exactly that spot. |
| Mass Editor | The table view in which you change many exhibitors at once. |
| Map only | A visibility for stages, catering and info points: appears on the plan but not in the directory. |
What your guests can do without an account
- Search by name and narrow down by type, category and location – optionally also by product, country, sales at the booth and events.
- Switch between grid and table view; on phones the table automatically becomes a card list.
- Put exhibitors on a personal favorites list with the heart and pass it on by link or QR code.
- Open the hall plan, zoom in and see the booth highlighted.
- Pass on an exhibitor with the device’s share function, or copy the link instead.
No account, no data on the server
The favorites list is stored only in the guest’s browser and survives closing the page. The server only counts anonymously how often an exhibitor was saved.
What the plugin deliberately doesn’t do
| Limit | What applies instead |
|---|---|
| One exhibitor at several fairs | Each entry belongs to exactly one event. For the second fair you create another entry – fastest by import. |
| Registration and booth allocation | There is no sign-up process and no invoicing. The plugin shows who is where – you organize the allocation as before. |
| Visitor accounts | There is no registration. Favorites stay anonymous in the browser. |
| SVG upload | WordPress doesn’t accept SVG files out of the box, and the plugin doesn’t change that – see System requirements. |
The only preparation step
The hall plan needs an SVG drawing in which the booth areas are named. How to create it or have it created is described in Preparing the SVG floor plan.
