For sidebars, footers and page builders the plugin ships two classic WordPress widgets. You find them under Appearance → Widgets or in your page builder.
Event Highlight Card
Shows a single session as a compact, vertical card – ideal for promoting a highlight. Internally this is the compact card [event_card] with the narrow button layout.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Title | Heading above the widget (optional). |
| Event | Choice of the 50 most recently created, published sessions. |
| OR manual event ID | The WordPress ID of any session. Takes precedence over the choice – for anything not among the 50. |
In the All Events list, hover over a title and look at the browser’s status bar (post=1250), or check the address bar of the edit screen.
Event Live Ticker
A narrow list of ongoing and upcoming sessions, automatically adapted to small widths. Internally this is the live ticker [event_live_ticker].
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Title | Heading above the widget (optional). |
| Main event | Choice of up to 50 main events dated today or later. |
| Items to display | How many entries the ticker shows; default 5. |
| Favorites button | Shows or hides the “My Favorites” filter. |
The ticker in the widget pages forward every ten seconds. If no main event is chosen, logged-in editors see a notice in the preview.
The list only shows main events dated today or later. If the main event has no date of its own or it lies in the past (e.g. on the first day of a running festival), give it a date – or use a shortcode block with [event_live_ticker parent_id="…"] instead of the widget.
Styling
Both widgets load their own styles and scripts, even outside the normal page content. For your own rules they carry the classes .ec-widget-compact-card and .ec-widget-live-ticker – more under CSS customizing.
The widgets deliberately offer only the most important fields. If you need more parameters, put the shortcode in a text or shortcode widget; the Shortcode Generator builds it for you.
