With “Save Date”, your guests add a session to their own calendar – Apple, Google, Outlook or their phone. Optionally with a reminder before it starts.
How it works
- 1Click the calendar icon
On the card, in the list, in the timetable, on the compact card (“Save Date”) or in the detail view.
- 2On a computer: download
“Download iCal file” saves an
.icsfile; a double-click adds the session to Outlook or Apple Calendar. The file name combines event and session. - 3On a phone: scan
The QR code contains the session itself. Scan it with the camera and the phone offers to save it to the calendar – handy when someone browses on a computer and wants the date on their phone.
What the calendar file contains
| File field | Content |
|---|---|
| Title (SUMMARY) | The session title. |
| Start and end (DTSTART / DTEND) | Date, start and end time; without an end time, the start time is used. |
| Location (LOCATION) | The venue name. |
| Description (DESCRIPTION) | Short description, person with role, and language. |
| Reminder (VALARM) | Only if an iCal alarm is set: a reminder x minutes before the start. |
Settings
| Where | What |
|---|---|
| Design & Options → iCal alarm | Minutes before the start for the reminder (default 15). 0 writes no reminder into the file. |
| Text & Labels | Window title (“Save Date”), the scan hint and the “Download iCal file” button. |
| Shortcode parameters | hide_ical_icon="true" (calendar, timetable) or hide_ical="true" (compact card) hides the feature. |
Single sessions, no combined file
A single session is saved each time. Guests who want to take several sessions along use the favorites list and move it to their phone via QR code.
