A hundred exhibitors in one table – change them without opening every edit screen. You find it under Exhibitors → Mass Editor (heading “Event Exhibitor Mass Editor”).
Finding the right rows
- Search by name or part of a name.
- Filters event, type, category and location – they work together. “Reset filter” returns to the full list.
- The editor only shows exhibitors, not events. Entries without an event appear under “– No Event –”.
Changing directly in the table
- 1Click a cell
Type into text fields, select fields drop down, multi-value fields open a checkbox list. In the “Location” column every hall has its rooms indented below.
- 2Changed cells are marked
“You have unsaved changes!” appears at the top. “Show changes” hides everything you didn’t touch; “Show all” brings the other rows back.
- 3“Save All Changes”
While saving it reads “Saving…”; saved cells flash green.
The browser warns, but only once. And: if a booth number has the same value as another, the editor reports “Duplicate booth number detected!” and doesn’t save until you assign a unique number.
Images and longer texts
| Column | Usage |
|---|---|
| Image | A click on the thumbnail opens the media library – as for the featured image. |
| Gallery | Opens “Manage gallery”: “Add images” adds, the cross removes. |
| Short and full description | Open a window of their own with a large text field. |
| Fav. | How often the exhibitor was saved – read-only. |
| Events | Only with the calendar plugin; the calendar synchronizes changes with the sessions. |
These windows also only change the table at first – only “Save All Changes” writes to the database.
Changing many rows at once
- 1Select
Checkboxes on the left of the rows; the header checkbox selects everything on the current page. Next to the selection you see how many rows are selected – check this number.
- 2Action and value
Choose the action under “– Bulk Actions –”, the value next to it.
- 3“Apply”
The values are written into all selected rows.
- 4Save
Don’t forget “Save All Changes” afterwards.
| Bulk action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Set Event | Moves the selected exhibitors to another fair. |
| Set Visibility | “List & Map” or “Map only”. |
| Set Sales at Booth | Yes, no or no information. |
| Set Featured | Adds exhibitors to the featured row or removes them. |
| Set Category, Set Type | Assigns a category or type. |
| Set Location | Hall or room – the list is indented by hierarchy. |
| Set Products | Assigns products. |
| Set Country | Assigns a country. |
“Delete Selected” is a separate button next to the selection, not in the list of actions. The editor asks explicitly first – it cannot be undone.
Only the columns you need
“Screen Options” opens the column selection. Only “Name” is always on. Next to it you set how many entries appear per page (1 to 200, default 25). The choice applies to your account only and is kept for your next visit. For a clean-up: switch off everything except the two or three columns that matter.
“Autosave”
The switch writes every change to the database immediately. When switching it on, the editor asks: “Caution: Autosave will overwrite data immediately. Proceed?” After that there is no moment left in which you could take back an accidental entry. Handy for focused work on a few fields – otherwise better off.
Working safely
- Create a CSV export as a backup first.
- The filters narrow down to exactly the rows you want; the number of selected rows is right.
- Look over the marked cells after applying.
- The duplicate booth number message did not appear.
Saving fails with 403 or 500? Usually a security plugin or firewall blocks the requests – see Troubleshooting.
